Publicity (and Recruitment ?) Officer
Summary
To publicise Orienteering, the Club (SROC), the Club’s events and the club member’s performances.
Objectives
Publicise the club’s events, particularly in a suitable form for novices, with the objectives of advertising the club, the sport, increasing participation and obtaining new members.
Increase the media cover of the club’s activities and members achievements.
Advertise the sport of Orienteering and the South Ribble Orienteering Club whenever and wherever practical.
Tasks
Produce and distribute suitable leaflets, flyers, and handouts.
Make contacts with the local Press and provide material.
Investigate opportunities to get club events and information onto suitable web sites, journals, directories etc.
Liase with the Fixtures Secretary and all Event Organisers on events and formats suitable for novices
Contact SROC event organisers to ensure that they have courses and a manned
HELP point for novices at every event, with information and signs.
Investigate the possibilities of having Club and Event information permanently displayed at suitable locations.
Funding
Obtain, and/or make use of, grants and other funding sources, additional to club funds, wherever possible.
