Club
Captain
1. To co-ordinate entries for the Compass Sport Cup. This involves completing
the club entry form towards the end of the year (normally provided by the club
secretary), organising a team and submitting the individual entries to the
organising club.
2. To enter teams for the JK Relays – entries submitted by the required closing date (entry form normally provided by the club secretary). At the event team declaration sheets need to be completed and submitted (typically before the end of the Sunday) and relay numbers / information distributed to those concerned. If the club captain isn’t at the event they should make arrangements for someone to do this.
3. To enter teams for the British Relays – entries submitted by the required
closing date (entry form normally provided by the club secretary). At the event
team declaration sheets need to be completed and submitted (typically before the
end of the individual day) and relay numbers / information distributed to those
concerned. If the club captain isn’t at the event they should make arrangements
for someone to do this.
4. To gauge interest and if required enter and co-ordinate teams for the
Harvester Relays.
5. To work with the junior representative and junior co-ordinator to gauge
interest and if required enter and co-ordinate teams for the Peter Palmer
Relays.
6. For all these events, to work with the club treasurer to collect entry fees.
Entry fees and any club subsidy need to be agreed by the committee at the start
of each year. The club treasurer will write a club cheque to cover the entry
fees for all these events.
7. To work with club chairman and other club members to ensure club tent and
banner are present at major events (typically JK and British relays and Scottish
/ Welsh / Lakes 6 days).
