Apologies to the many people wondering when the Yvette Baker Trophy North West qualifier will take place (see 29.07.07 news item below). It will be on Sunday 21st October 2007. If you want to know more about how the YBT works, visit this page on the BO website.
England selections for the Veteran Home Internationals were announced today. Congratulations to Julian Lailey, selected in the M60 class, and to Quentin Harding who is reserve in M45.
Everyone should by now have received their programs and bibs, showing start times. You should also have received a letter explaining an error with these times. This affects all bibs, so if you haven't received the letter, look at it on the Scottish 6 Days website.

A new website created to support the Lancaster O-zone was officially launched today, after undergoing testing over the last two weeks. Some of the O-zone pages are already linked into the SROC website, but you won't necessarily notice this as the two sites are of similar appearance. You can visit the O-zone at any time by clicking on the O-zone logo on the right.
Night Street League coordinator Glenys Ferguson has announced the dates and areas to be used for the next season of this popular series. Fuller details will follow nearer to the beginning of the series, which runs from October through to March. The new SROC forums are starting to be used, but they need more active members. If you haven't had a look yet, please follow the menu bar link "Message Board" above. For the benefit of SROC members who have specialist roles within the club there are also several private forums. If you would like to join the Webteam, Committee or Event Organisation forums just register as normal and drop an email to the webteam so that your name can be added to the relevant user list.
The latest development on the SROC website is now undergoing testing and evaluation. You can take a look at the Gallery at any time by clicking on the "Photo Gallery" icon on the menu bar. This will be the place to come after events to check out the latest pictures. We intend to make it as easy as possible to add you own photos; if you have any you would like to share with the rest of the club, or if you have any comments about the Gallery, please contact the webteam.
Details of the five events forming the Autumn Series are now available on the fixtures pages, or by following the picture link. The first four events are all on Saturday afternoons, in or close to Lancaster, and are squarely aimed at attracting newcomers to the sport. Each will also have a course aimed at more experienced orienteeers, and scores will go towards a league with prizes! The final event in the series will be the Helsington Barrows District Event.
The long awaited return of the SROC Message board has happened today! To chat about recent or forthcoming events, arrange lifts, discuss routes or whatever, join the new SROC Forums (opens in a new window). You can access the forums at any time by clicking on the "Message Board" icon on the menu bar above.
Club statistician Bob Nash has been busy crunching the numbers and has produced a set of tables for the current scores in the Club League and Galoppen. He has also updated the lists of colour and badge standards achieved to date. Any queries or corrections to Bob.
