25.02.07 Web Team - update
As many of you know, SROC is developing a web team to manage this site. As
part of this Chris Roberts is taking charge of all results. To send
results directly to Chris, please email them to results@sroc.org.
The results may be published before they are announced on this page, so please
keep checking the Club Results
page for the current year.
25.02.07 Preston Street League Results
Penultimate results for this season's Street League are now available -
Fulwood West event. Check out what you need to do for the last event
at Lytham for you to win!
21.02.07 Route Gadget - check it out, try it out!
Route Gadget is a new and innovative development in reviewing orienteering
events and looking at results. It allows people to trace their own routes
run and compare them with other competitors. So you can compare your run
with other people's. There is even animation, allowing you to watch
yourself running your route whilst others run theirs. We've set up and
initial trial using the New Year Cracker Event to compare. It doesn't
matter too much if you can't remember your exact route for the New Year event
(it is 6 weeks later!), but just take the time to
try it out and get familiar with the system. The next event where it
will be used will be at the National Event at Whitbarrow.
21.02.07 Whitbarrow - National Event
Final details and start times for the National Event at Whitbarrow on the 11th
March will be published on this website on the evening of the 4th March.
Easy access to the details will be from the image on the right of this
page.
13.02.07 LSOA Events
Half way through this season's Lancashire School Orienteering Association league
events and there are still 3 events to go. If you haven't ever entered
then these are fun, yet competitive events for you to take part in and even
score points for your School (no, not you Dad! You've got to go to school
to run in the competition!) Check out the next events via the LSOA
events list on the results page. (If you get a lift from your Dad or
Mum, then you could let them run too - if they think they can handle it!)
11.02.07 New Web Team Member Sought
We are very sorry that Dave Kesby, our webmaster, and his family are moving on to forests new in Winchester, around July time. This creates a vacancy for someone to join the web team - which currently consists of Jane Collins, Chris Roberts, John Denmark and
Dave Kesby. This is an exciting opportunity to play a part in this new
team, and to develop your web-skills along with the website. Prior knowledge of website
design and management is not a requirement, more is the willingness to learn as part of the team.
Feel free to call Dave for a chat about
what part you could play in the team. If you are reading this, then you
will already know what a vitally important part the web plays in our Club and
the need to build a successful web team
11.02.07 Carnforth Results
As the league enters the final nail-biting few events, check out how you and
your competitors have done on the latest event at Carnforth.
Next event details are on the Fixtures
list.
04.02.07 Ashton Street League - Result changes!
A few changes have been made to the results
since they were first published. Also check out the
latest League positions.
04.02.07 Even More Captions!
Quite clearly this photo has triggered the imagination in many of our club
members. More captions have been
flying in this week. Do you have any more pictures of recent events to run
another caption competition next week?
04.02.07 Grade 2 Controllers Course
Ever thought of Controlling at Regional events? Why not have a look at
doing the this course on 17th March at
Great Tower Wood. If you aren't sure, why not talk to one of the Committee.
