26.02.05 Club Annual Dinner

26.02.05 Compass Sport Cup
Latest news is that the event is still on.  Check the LOC website for the very latest details.  Final details here.  REMEMBER whistles and cagoules.  Club tent will be near the finish.    

26.02.05 Run in the Orienteering World Cup!
This year's World Cup is in and around Guildford, Surrey.  Whilst you need to be an elite runner to run in the competition, the Surrey Five-O will run parallel and on the same terrain as the World Cup.  So between 29th April and 3rd May you can pit your wits against the best in the world!  More information in Fixtures.  

26.02.05 Congratulations
Well done to Tim Watkins for being selected for the England Team for Interland.  His M40 bronze medal performance in Antwerp last weekend secured his place.  Full report in next Newsletter.  

17.02.05 Regional Event - Online Entry
The online entry for SROC's next Regional Event on 8th May at Helsington Barrows, Kendal, is now available.  

13.02.05 SROC Message Board - "The Community"
This free new service has now been launched.  Simply browse as a guest, or register to keep up to date with the latest news and views from the club.  Why not offer a lift via the Transport to Events forum.  Or Review the latest Sunday event.  Who's going to the next LSOA event and where are they meeting?  This new service offers a focal point for the club and for others using the website.  You can even receive emails on other topics in the forum (or you can choose not to!).  So sign up today and join the community!

There will be no gym night on Wednesday 16th due to Half term.

The following results are now available: 2004 Club Galoppen, 2004 Club League and 2005 Handicap.  Delay was mainly due to unseen circumstances and unseen branches!

SROC is now the proud owner of an A4 colour laser printer. If you ever need to print maps, please get in touch with Alex Finch.  

01.02.05 Heather Munro to meet the Club
Heather Munro, the North West Regional Development Officer and Orienteerer for Team GB will be discussing development options for SROC on Monday 7th Feb at 7.30pm at Rowena Browne's house.  The Committee will be there, but an invitation goes out to any other club members who wish to join in.  If you want to go please get in touch with Rowena Browne.
