The “club” is thinking of expanding the club kit available from just O’ suits, maybe to include t-shirts, sweatshirts, wind jackets; the list could be endless.

We're investing in our electronic punching kit and a decent laptop is what's
needed. If you have an unused one lying in a corner somewhere, please get

24.03.04 Club Development - Volunteers Needed
Steve McLean has recently been successful in winning an NWOA grant to target
Orienteering to young adults (M/W21 group). To make it work, he's after
people to help help out in various ways. Could you give 5 hours, or 5
minutes help?

This year's Summer Series will be a great opportunity to not only take part in
an excellent competition, but also to improve your O skills. To make the
best of these events, Sarah Fulwood is looking for a Co-ordinator to help her

21.03.04 British Orienteering Championships - Well done!
Results are already pouring in for this key event. Individuals who got
into the top three of their classes include: Chris Nash (1st M10B), Malik Devlin
(3rd M16A), Edward Davenport (1st M16B), Alison Anthony (1st W16B), Adam
Sunderland (1st M18B), Chris Roberts (2nd M45S), Martyn Roome (2nd M50S), Sue Denmark (3rd
W50S), Diane Taylor (1st W55S), Dorothy Newton (1st W65S), Anthony Newton (3rd
M70L), and Maurice Collett (1st M80). Well done to every one who got
excellent results.

21.03.04 New Website for British Orienteering
The British Orienteering Federation is updating its website. It's got a
new address name, it's fast and it's informative. It also looks
good! So why not check it out.

15.03.04 Blodslitet
SROC are at the hub of international orienteering this Easter. The week
after the JK, we are putting on the "elite" Blodslitet" race at
Scout Scar (near Arnside Knott). The organisers are planning a "light
touch" event, and all helpers will
get the chance to run in the mass start.

02.03.04 Compass Sport Cup - Teams
The team lists are out for this
competition to be held at Formby on 14th March. Sarah Watkins (Club
Captain) has now submitted this list, so any problems please call her
ASAP! The event will use control cards, not e-cards, and these need to be
collected and paid for at Enquiries on the day. Costs: £4/£2. If you're
a National Trust member, take your membership card to avoid paying £3.10 car
parking.
