Start times will be from 10.30 – 12.30 with provision from 10.00 – 10.30 for those requesting split starts.

There will be entry on the day for all courses for those not competing in the Trophy and Cup - master maps to be used. Entries subject to the availability of start times.  There will not be a string course – apologies.

Map – 1:10000, 2.5 metre contours. The area was last surveyed in 1998 since when there have been changes in some dune contours close to the beach. The planner has avoided these areas – competitors may not do so! There are some new fences; new enclosures have been overprinted as out of bounds. A significant new path appears early in the brown course: it is marked on competitors’ maps and will result in a taped route on yellow and white courses. Other courses are unaffected.

Maps – Pre-entered Cup and Trophy competitors will have overprinted and polybagged maps. The brown course may have two maps back-to-back in one case. Entry on the day will use master maps – bring own map bags/cases. NOTE - description sheets will not be attached to the maps; loose copies will be issued with control cards.

Start/Finish – adjacent to each other within 300 metres of the car park. There will be no clothing transfer – start and finish are in a sheltered area.

Results
Course results will be posted on the traditional ‘washing line’ on the day. Competition results will be made available as soon as possible – we hope to post the results on the web in the evening of the day, but there are no guarantees …. Individuals wanting a paper copy of the results will be expected to address an envelope and pay postage – facility at Enquiries.

Jury
A jury will be arranged in accordance with the rules of the competition.

Facilities
Traders – Compass Point will be in attendance but there will be no food caterers due to National Trust commercial arrangements – apologies.
Toilets – There are permanent toilets located 100 metres inside the reserve. As this is approx. 500 metres from the car park it may be advisable to use the facilities on the way in.

Enquiries/Registration
There will be an enquiry/registration tent prominently placed in the car park.

Out of Bounds Areas/Hazards
Formby Point is a sensitive area, heavily used by the general public and squirrels! MEROC asks all competitors to scrupulously observe out of bounds area marked on the maps, to leave no litter and to give way to walkers and horse riders. Our continued use of the area is dependent upon a good report from this event and we look to all in attendance to co-operate.

Thank you.
