The Yvette Baker trophy

The Yvette Baker Trophy is an inter-club team competition open to all English open clubs. The competition is designed to enable juniors of all abilities to compete and contribute to their club's performance, and to encourage clubs of all sizes to take part.  The Yvette Baker Trophy covers courses Yellow-Green.

Rules for the Juniors taking part:
1) Eligibility for each course is as follows:
   Green:              Any
Light Green:      Any M/W14-, plus any M/W16+ who has not achieved Level 5 Gold badge
Orange:            Any M/W12-, plus any M/W14+ who has not achieved Level 4/5 Gold badge
Yellow:             Any M/W10, plus any M/W12-14 who has not achieved Level 3+ Gold badge
Gold Badge holders for 2003 can be found here.
2) Pairs may compete on the Yellow course. As a minimum requirement, neither member of the pair may have achieved a gold standard in any badge class in the current calendar year, nor a Yellow colour standard. Shadowing by adults is not allowed.
3) Competitors from the same club on the same course must start at least 4 mins apart

Because this event is also a Lancashire Schools League event it is possible that there will be confusion over the entries. For example, there are likely to be some juniors who need to run the white course in the Schools League but the yellow in the Yvette Baker Trophy. Obviously, the decision as to what to run is down to you and the junior. But if you choose to run in the Yvette Baker Trophy juniors can still score in the schools' league, because anyone doing a harder or easier course than their "norm" will have their scores adjusted. Just make sure that you write down the school name as well as the BOF class to score points in both competitions.
