30.05.05 British Blodslitet - The Tim Watkins Trophy
SROC is pleased to announce that the British Blodslitet has been renamed the Tim Watkins Trophy in memory of Tim who died following a car accident in March of this year. Tim was instrumental in introducing this demanding race to the UK and had already done a lot of work in preparation for the 2005 event. The 2005 race will take place in the South Lakes on November 27th.

30.05.05 June Events in South Ribble
SROC is one busy club during June.  Just check out the dates in the fixtures list.  There's more than enough to keep you going including - Summer League; Wednesday Evening Runs; Lancaster O-Zone; as well as other weekend events.  Come on and join in the fun!

Further details the summer league now available. For those experienced orienteers participating, the league will award prizes, based on the best 3 out of the 5 events - further details to be announced shortly.

14.05.05 New O-Suit Designs
Following the long discussion on the Message Board about new SROC O-Suits, the Club Captain, Sarah Watkins has sourced some possible designs from Trimtex (close fitting O-tops and Tracksuits).  Why not have a look at them and then add your comments to the message board?

The results of the recent Regional Event on 8th May are now available.  The Webmaster apologises for the late posting of these results.   

07.05.05 SROC Summer League
In June, SROC are running a Summer League of events on both Sunday and Wednesdays.  The events are designed for all-comers, so feel free to turn up as you are and ask for advice from the organisers.  They will be more than willing to help you out.  More information on dates and locations are available.

28.04.05 Course Descriptions Available
Course descriptions for the forthcoming Helsington Barrows Regional Event on 8th May, as well as new information on the map and terrain are now available.

28.04.05 Map Bagging for Regional Event
8 volunteers are needed for Map Bagging in preparation for the Helsington Barrows event.  Bagging will take place at Brian Jackson's house on Tuesday 3rd May at 7.30pm.  Refreshments will be provided. 

25.04.05 More congratulations!
Following the British Orienteering Championships in Penhale, Cornwall, South Ribble have even more congratulations to make in addition to those already made (see 17.04.05).  These include David Roome (M21L 2nd) and in the relays, Brian Jackson, Miriam Rosen and Dick Collins who are now the M/W55 British Relay Champions!. Also to Adam Sunderland, Chris Nash and Matthew Nash, who were 3rd in the Junior Ad Hoc, Becca Roberts, Karen Nash and Sarah Fulwood 4th in the Women's Short, and Andy Quickfall, Chris Roberts, and Jon Carberry who were 5th in the M45 Class. Finally, congratulations to Jon Carberry who was the runner-up in the first BOF coach-of-the-year award.  See pictures of the Championships in the Gallery.
